Privacy Policy

The short version: we never see your data. Cueside has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no servers of ours. Everything the app produces lives on your Mac.

What the app processes

Conversation audio. While a session is running, Cueside captures your Mac's system audio to transcribe the conversation. Audio is processed in short chunks and immediately discarded — it is never stored, on your Mac or anywhere else.
Transcripts, cues, and summaries. These are saved only on your Mac, inside the app's sandboxed container, so you can review and export them. You can delete any session — or all of them — at any time in the app.

Where AI processing happens

You choose, in the app's Settings:

On-device (macOS 26 or later): transcription runs entirely on your Mac using Apple's speech frameworks. Nothing leaves your machine.
Your own AI provider: if you add an API key for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or OpenRouter — or point Cueside at a local Ollama server — audio chunks (for transcription) and transcript text (for cues and summaries) are sent to that provider under your account and their privacy terms. We are not a party to that relationship and receive nothing.

API keys are stored in the macOS Keychain and are only ever sent to the provider they belong to.

What we collect

Nothing. Cueside contains no telemetry, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting, and no advertising or tracking of any kind. If you email support, we see what you send us and use it only to help you.

Purchases

The optional one-time unlock is processed by Apple through the Mac App Store. We receive no payment details.

Your responsibilities

Depending on your jurisdiction, transcribing a conversation may require the consent of the people in it. Cueside reminds you of this on first launch; obtaining any required consent is your responsibility.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date. Since we collect nothing, changes are expected to be rare and editorial.
